I hate Wyoming winters! Last week I was in shorts and a t-shirt loving outside, this week -42 degree wind chill and snow everywhere! WTH!!! Thank heavens our school building is all inside or I may opt out of attending class this week. Along with the Wyoming winter comes inventing things to do to occupy your time. This past weekend my best friend from home came up to visit me. Since the weather was kind of nice at the time we decided to explore this wonderful town of Rock Springs.
With the music blasting, we drove out to a place called the Heartbeat. It's a bunch of abandoned run down buildings in the middle of nowhere. I'm pretty sure they are haunted, but even if not that place is creepy! We got out of the car and I was brave enough to walk away from the car for about 2 seconds with Syd and Kortnie. When we turned around everyone else in the car was driving away!! We all panicked! We were screaming and running towards the car, a few profanities may have been shouted, but they KEPT driving!! As we realized they were not planning on stopping the words began to run freely. We freaked ourselves out thinking we may be left there to whatever creatures roam the Wyoming wilderness late at night. They finally stopped and we all jumped in as fast as we could. Great adrenaline rush!

We headed back towards the college and there is a statue of an elk that I have always wanted to take my picture with. So we stopped by and had great adventure attempting to scale the frozen metal beast. We even thought we might get to talk with a police officer, but to the dismay of my roommate he didn't stop to get mad at us. Unfortunately, only our 6' 10" friend Matt was tall enough to get on him.

The next night my amazing team was honored at the basketball game for our accomplishments this past season. We won Region IX and the Wyoming Community College Athletic Conference going undefeated, and then finished 3rd at the National Tournament in West Plains, Missouri. All 15 of these girls have blessed my life in so many ways. They made this year the best it could have been and are always there for me during my hard times. We each come from different places and different walks of life, but we all have something to teach each other if we take the time to learn. These girls taught me that wonderful life lesson and many others while we accomplished some great things on the volleyball court. I love these girls! Go Mustangs!
